Esperanto - USA

Esperanto-USA (E-USA) is a non-profit organization of Esperanto speakers and supporters of Esperanto in the United States. The League seeks to increase understanding of Esperanto and the world language problem. We invite you to join our community!

In addition to this website, Esperanto-USA operates an on-line bookstore, a Newsletter, and an annual congress for Esperanto speakers. Members receive significant benefits, including the newsletter and discounts at the bookstore and the annual congress.

Click here to learn more about this site, part of our community-editable book about how to use the site.

We'll send you more information about learning and using Esperanto, including the first lesson of our free ten-lesson introductory language course, if you fill out this brief form. If possible, please provide both an e-mail address and a street address. If you are outside the United States, or would prefer an electronic version of the course, you can sign up for an e-mail version here.

NOREK 2008 (kaj 2010) - korektita!!

NOREK (Nord-Okcidenta Regiona Esperanto-Konferenco) okazos en Eastsound (Vaŝingtonio), ĉe la historia hotelo Outlook Inn—if you're lucky, you may sleep in the same room where Richard Geoghegan slept lo these many years past—la 10an-12an de oktobro.

I withdraw my candidacy!

limako's picture
I was surprised when I received the ballot for Esperanto-USA yesterday. When I agreed to be a candidate for Vice-President, I clearly stated that I would stand for office only on the condition that no-one else was willing to serve. Since Tim Westover, an active and appropriate candidate is on the ballot for Vice-President, I officially withdraw my candidacy. Do not vote for me! I will not accept the position under any circumstances.

Thanks to Phil Dorcas for his spirited and wise leadership of the organization and all the best to Tim Westover.

Trovu la ringon perditan

There's an alternate reality game going on right now at findthelostring.com. Ariadne's woken up with a strange tattoo on her arm that says "Trovu la ringon perditan." She wants to know what it means.

We know what it means. It means "find the lost ring."

We know what it means because we speak the International Language Esperanto.

Ariadne is one of 6 people from all over the world who need to communicate with each other to solve a mystery. That's just what Esperanto was created for! In fact, they're decoding a secret codex with 27 chapters hidden all over the world all written in Esperanto, in one chapter it reads:

We chose the language Esperanto for this text because of the difficulties we had communicating with each other.

You can learn to speak it too!
