translate.google.com

Even though Esperanto isn't an option at translate.google.com, just for grins I entered an Esperanto word, with the source language set to "Detect language". The response was We are not yet able to translate from Esperanto into English.. It also detects Esperanto when words are plural, accusative, participles... Yeah, the detection code is probably independent and doesn't mean that the translation code knows anything about Esperanto (yet!), but the response sounds promising.

esperanto.com

Ailanto's picture

Until fairly recently http://esperanto.com was not an Esperanto site— I don't remember why the previous owners chose the name, or even whether they explained it on the website. But now it's in Esperantist hands, a young Drupal site, not much happening yet. Check it out! There are a couple of games, for example the following (if you register, you can get your name on the leader board) ...

Esperantista projekto instruos la slovakan

Ailanto's picture

According to Libera Folio, Lernu! is going to have a Slovak twin. As Lernu.net teaches Esperanto, the new site will teach Slovak. The educational agency of the EU has donated 256,000 euros to this E@I project (I haven't been able to find any other articles about this, except for some earlier news at E@I mentioning application for a subsidy (2009-04-04). Anybody else find anything?)...

Arkivo de 3ZZZ Radio

Ailanto's picture

I like to type random Esperanto words into search engines and see what pops up. Today a pleasant surprise!... I discovered that Radio 3ZZZ in Melbourne has an online archive now. They broadcast a weekly one-hour Esperanto radio show (real radio!... that must be so cool for Esperantists in that area!... drivin' down the road with 3ZZZ playing...).
