Google often switches out their homepage logo in honor of various holidays, events, and important individuals. These logos are very visible and generate a lot of press.
Renato Corsetti has suggested that Esperanto-speakers advocate recognizing L. L. Zamenhof with a special Google logo on December 15th, in honor of Zamenhof's 150th birthday. I think it's an intriguing idea that could have a big impact successful.
Google accepts proposals for logo doodles at proposals@google.com. If you're in favor of the idea, send them a short e-mail.

Post tiuj teruraĵoj Orfiŝeto fornaĝis de la tero, de la verdaĵoj kaj montoj, de la ventoj kaj homaj spiroj. Ĝi frapfrapegis per la ĉielarka vosto kaj fine trovis sin en la mezo de la vasta oceano. La akvo estis malvarmega, kaj Orfiŝeto sentis sin soleca. Ĝi naĝis serĉante la transmaran fluon, ĉar tie devas esti ĝiaj akvaj gefratoj.

Our poll has spoken! Let's talk about ideas and projects for Esperanto-USA. What is the organization doing that is successful? What could use improvement? What kinds of information should Esperanto-USA be disseminating, how should we disseminate it, and to whom?
Cathy (uzantonomo "ganymeder" en Twitter) estas konatino mia ankaŭ de Lernu. Plaĉas al ŝi la kutimo ĉe Twitter afiŝi mallongajn fikciojn je vendredo (t. n. "Flash Fiction Friday"). Ŝi proponis, ke Esperanto ankaŭ havu sian propran tagon por rapide legeblaj / verkitaj fikcietoj -- ĵaŭdo. Ŝajnas al mi nemalbona ideo, kaj mi bezonis la instigon por verki.
When Esperanto-USA updated its bookstore several months ago, one of the most anticipated new capabilities was the ability to post reviews and opinions of any item. But since then, there haven't been very many reviews posted. We really need them!
Sabaton okazis kunveno inter la Esperantistoj de Atlanta, GA, kaj la Esperantistoj de Athens, GA (universitata urbo proksimume horon kaj duonon for de Atlanta). Mi alvenis en Athens antaŭ la aliaj Atlantanoj, kiuj havis aŭtopromblemojn. Ni renkontiĝis ĉe vegetara restoracio "The Grit" kaj bone babilis dum pli ol horo.
Antaŭ ol alvenis la atlantanoj, mi estis la plej aĝa (kun 27 jaroj!) -- jen unuafoje en la vivo mi estis la plej aĝa inter grupo de Esperantistoj. La ceteraj ĉeestantoj estis universitataj studentoj aŭ eĉ gimnazianoj.
In connection with our current poll, I'd like to propose this open thread: "How did you first hear about Esperanto?" When and where? Did you start to learn Esperanto soon thereafter, or was that first encounter just a seed that was planted?

My wife volunteers with the Odyssey of the Mind program, a creative problem-solving competition for school children and college students. As part of their awareness program in Georgia, each volunteer was given a big stack of Odyssey of the Mind pens (with a website address and phone number) and was asked to leave them strategically in places where pens tend to get passed around. She's left them on the doctor's office clipboard, in the bank, and after signing the bill at the restaurant.
